Assisting Priest
The Rev. Margot Critchfield is an Episcopal priest who retired to the Cape in 2017 after serving St. Stephen’s Church, Cohasset for nine years. She and her husband, Don, spent the first 30 years of their marriage in Washington, DC, where both of them were producers for NBC News. In 1998 Margot’s call to ordained ministry was affirmed by the Diocese of Washington and she attended Virginia Theological Seminary, graduating in 2001. Margot is co-founder of a non-profit dedicated to making the town of Sandwich more welcoming and appreciative of diversity, and is active in a number of social justice groups on the Cape. She is also a ceramic artist who creates wheel-thrown porcelain vessels, then uses them as canvases for personal and social justice story-telling.
