Fall Programs
Lunch with the Rector – Guest, Edward Poston
Tuesday, Sept. 22 | 12:00 PM | Walden Conference Room
Bring your lunch and join me for an informal conversation about the life and future of St. Mary’s. From time to time it’s helpful simply to sit together, ask questions, share ideas, and wonder aloud about where God may be leading us as a parish. Lunchtime with the Rector will be a relaxed, open gathering where you’re invited to bring your lunch, pull up a chair, and talk about whatever is on your mind – questions about St. Mary’s, hopes for the future, ministry ideas, or simply curiosity about how things work around the parish. This is also a great time to meet and get to know our new Minister of Music, Edward Poston as he begins his music journey with us. No presentations, no agenda – just conversation. All questions are welcome.

6A Speaker Series: Charles Calhoun, Bayeux Tapestry Returns to England
Sunday, Sept. 27 | 11: 30 AM | Walden Conference Room
St. Mary’s joins the celebration of the brief return of the Bayeux Tapestry to England after nearly 1,000 years in France. Historian Charles Calhoun will explain the origins of this early version of a graphic novel, walk us through it scene by scene, outline some of the conservation issues that almost sank the loan, and speculate on why a bloody depiction of the last successful invasion of the British Isles to date is celebrated as a relic of an English rather than a French “triumph.”
We have three more 6A Speaker Series events scheduled in October. All events are free to attend. Click below to read about them!

Movie Theology | Oct. 25 | 3 PM | Walden Hall
Presentation: The Sheep Detectives
Join our Movie Theology group that enjoys watching and discussing movies on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 3 p.m. October – June. Together we view and discuss films chosen by the group. Movie selections touch on love, forgiveness, sorrow, remorse, regret, and humor – the emotions and traits that make us human. This event is free to the public, and we provide the popcorn!

The Sheep Detectives – In this witty, new breed of mystery, George (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd who reads detective novels to his beloved sheep every night, assuming they can’t possibly understand. But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realize they must become the detectives. As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers.
