Movie Theology
Join us for a lively exploration of faith through film! St. Mary’s Movie Theology Group watches a diverse selection of movies and dives into engaging discussions, uncovering theological themes and spiritual insights. Whether it’s a classic, a blockbuster, or an indie gem, we look beyond the screen to find deeper meaning and reflect on how stories connect with our own spiritual journeys. All are welcome—bring your curiosity, we’ll have the popcorn!

Education for Ministry
Education for Ministry is a program sponsored by the Beecken Center at the School of Theology at Sewanee, University of the South (an Episcopal seminary). EfM is a four-year program taking participants through the Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, and Philosophy and Theology. Participants make a commitment of one year at a time. The goal is to facilitate each person’s spiritual growth through looking at how personal faith intersects with development of community in the church, the wider community, and the world. The format is reflection on readings, group discussion, and worship. The program runs from September through early June.
Seminars & Forums
St. Mary’s offers a diverse array of engaging educational forums throughout the year. These offerings go beyond traditional topics like Scripture study and seasonal reflections. Expect unique sessions on themes such as “Theology and Pop Culture,” “Faith in a Time of Climate Change,” “Exploring Spirituality Through Art and Music,” and “Navigating Life’s Transitions: From Career Changes to End-of-Life Planning.” We also dive into discussions on contemporary social issues and interfaith dialogue. Join us for these thought-provoking and enriching experiences designed to deepen your faith and understanding.
Children’s Church
Children’s Church is a once-a-month Sunday morning children’s formation class. It takes place during the 10 a.m. service on the first Sunday of the month during the school year, and the goal is learning, fun and friendship. The lessons are taken from the Godly Play curriculum which is appropriate for all ages. It is led by a volunteer group of teachers.
