School Supply Drive
St. Mary’s is assisting Hands of Hope with collection for the Backpacks and School Supply Drive
Hands of Hope is requesting donations of backpacks and school supplies for students in our Cape Cod community who do not have essentials they need. Below is information about how to donate if you are interested in helping.
Many of the children served by Hands of Hope Outreach Center come from low-income families that struggle to afford the necessary basic materials to support their children’s education. Hands of Hope receives numerous requests from parents using our Food Pantry, school nurses, school guidance counselors, and sometimes from neighbors who notice neighborhood children in need. They are seeking donations of the following items for children grades K-12:
- Fill a backpack or contribute items separately
- Backpacks – New or Gently Used (more sturdy ones for grades 6-12 are greatly needed)
- Pencils/Pens/Highlighters/Crayons/Markers
- Notebooks – both Regular and College Ruled
- 2-Pocket Folders
Your contribution will make a significant difference in the lives of students by providing them with the tools they need to succeed in their studies. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow, and with your support, we can help make this possible.
There is a box in the St. Mary’s parish office where you can drop off donations between 9 am – 12 pm, M-F, or items can be dropped off at 232 Main Street in Hyannis during the hours of M-TH 10-3, Fri. and Sat. 10-1. If you would prefer to send a monetary donation to us at the address below, they will do the shopping for you!
