Transforming our world by seeking justice and peace through community partnerships inspired by Faith, Love, and Humility is SMART’s mission. We believe, in the words of the Episcopal Public Policy Network’s (EPPN) From the Pew to the Public Square, “Episcopalians are called not only to live Christ-like lives personally, but to work for the good of our communities by seeking structural change.” SMART strives to move us closer to God’s kingdom using the Learn, Pray, Act model. Advocacy may be our goal (and in our name), but it is distinguished by its root in our faith and desire to become God’s Beloved Community.

We pursue our baptismal covenant to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being” through work focusing on the following:
