Alec Vaughn

Curate
Alec Vaughn will be joining St. Mary’s as Curate on October 1, 2026.
Alec grew up on Cape Cod and went to Boston University, where he studied International Relations and graduated in 2020 before heading into his Master of Divinity program at the Boston University School of Theology. There he was a member of the Anglican Episcopal Community of Learning (AECL). It was during his time at Boston University where he got involved both at Marsh Chapel on campus and became a member of Trinity Church in the City of Boston, which became his spiritual home and sponsoring parish for ordained life.
Alec also served as a Seminarian at St. Barnabas’s Memorial Episcopal Church in Falmouth, where he gained hands-on experience in a local Episcopal Congregation in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
At the center of his ministry is the desire to serve Christ in all persons the way Jesus demonstrates in the Gospels.
This passion brought Alec into the field of Chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) where he has served as a Chaplain at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston, MA), Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Nashville, TN),
Most recently, he was a Chaplain Fellow at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System Veterans’ Administration (Middle TN), where he ministered to Veterans in a Mental Health Residential Recovery Treatment Program.
Alec has a passion for people and building community relations, which brings him to his new unfolding chapter back on his island home. Alec is excited to step into his ordained life, grow as a minister, and serve the congregation of St. Mary’s and the people of Barnstable.
